中文摘要

華人地區的寺廟常常成為地方上的一種特色地景,寺廟因此可視為人文地景與地方文化的一種象徵與再現。特別是當寺廟住持本身也有詩文活動與文學表現時,極易召聚文人社群的匯集與融入,而形成另一種形態的社會人際網絡、地方文學風氣、在地日常生活與文化思維等豐富的文化景觀。由是而思考「空間與空間形式」之三種界定:絕對空間(absolute space)、相對空間(relative space)與關係空間(relational space)。易言之,當「寺廟」作為一個特殊的實體,獨立存在於一處地理環境的「絕對空間」(指寺廟及其所在的區域位址),它同時也指涉事物之間的關係,意即攸關世人「感知」、「位置」與「區辨」的一個「相對空間」(相較於「世俗空間」的「神聖空間」);此外,也作為一個包含和表現它和其他客體關係的「關係空間」(例如寺廟與宗教人士、詩社團體、社會庶民等關係)。準此,「寺廟」空間意義之決定性,還是得歸結到人的社會實踐上,而「空間與社會」將是重要而值得探討的論題。本論文因擬聚焦於新竹兩大寺廟、詩僧與在地文士所匯集自然與人文、宗教與藝文、生活與地方等多元重層的區域文化結構,藉此探討寺僧詩文與在地文士如何互涵相生,進而形塑出融攝禪意、詩性與地景,極具特色的在地文化的空間性。

英文摘要

This study aims to focus on multiple regional culture structures of nature and humanity, region and art and life and local place constructed by poet monks of temples and local scholars in order to explore how poet monks and local scholars influence each other to result in meaningful space with Zen, poetic characteristic and landscape. This study mainly reflects on three definitions of “space and spatial form”: absolute space, relative space and relationship space. In short, when “temple” is an absolute, unique and physical space which exists independently in one geographic environment (temple and the surrounding), it refers to relationship among the things. In other words, it is relative space associated with “perception” and “location” (“sacred space” in comparison to “common space”); in addition, it is also the “relationship space” which includes and presents its relationship with other objects (such as relationship between temple and religious figures, poet societies and common people in the society). Spatial meaning of “temple” depends on humans’ social practices. Thus, “space and society” will be an important issue worthy of study.
