Among many factors that aim to increase people’s quality of life, one variable that needs further investigation is on people’s beliefs. Thus, this research used a large data set collected from the 2034 national sample in Taiwan and tried to investigate the incremental role of people’s beliefs in their psychological well-being over and beyond the role of their perceived subjective health and the experience of interpersonal relations. In addition to the significant bivariate correlations, the hierarchical regression analyses suggested a significant incremental effect for the beliefs of both hope and destiny on the psychological well-being of the study participants. These results validate the role of social indicators in the patterns of well-being and shed light on the significant incremental role of people’s beliefs in their psychological well-being.
