本研究檢視《聯合報》、《蘋果日報》、《中國時報》及《自由時報》2015至2017三年期間「恐怖攻擊」相關報導，探討國內媒體如何呈現恐攻事件，以及藉由何種馴化策略將國際新聞與在地連結。研究發現，相關報導在文本類型上以一般新聞為主，主題首重國人安全，偏好引述政府官員的公開發言，而在新聞來源上倚賴西方媒體甚深。本研究同時歸納出恐攻報導的五項巨命題及相對應的馴化策略，包括將議題提升至國家利益層次、採訪旅居事件地點的同胞、報導國內政治領袖的公開譴責或哀悼、強調事件對日常生活的全面效應、評估本國發生恐攻的可能性及因應機制。

The present study examined news reports regarding “terrorist attack” during 2015 and 2017 in Taiwan’s four newspapers – United Daily News, Apple Daily News, China Times and Liberty Times. The aim of the study is to find out how news media in Taiwan represent terrorist attacks, and use what kinds of domestication strategy to create connections between international news and local audiences. The findings demonstrated that the majority of news reports are pure news, safety concern is the most highlighted news theme, and public statements made by Taiwan’s political officials are the preferred local materials. In terms of news source, the four newspapers highly rely on newsfeed from Western media outlets. Furthermore, the study identified five macro-propositions embedded in the news reporting of terrorist attack. Under these macro-propositions, five relevant domestication strategies are applied, including (1) elevate the occurrences to “national interest” level; (2) interview compatriots who happen to be at the places of incident; (3) report the public condemnation or condolence of national political leaders; (4) stress the overall impacts on daily life; (5) assess the possibility of being attacked and response measures.
