英文摘要

Reading the Old Testament narrative is contemporaneously captivating and difficult. The captivating part is that reading the Old Testament narrative is like reading a story with dramatic plot, while the difficult part is how readers identify author's intention from this wonderful plots, especially in the book of Esther. How the theology should be constructed, when the narrator of book of Esther neither mention of the name of God, nor the prophet's telling and teachings, as well as lacking the narrator's discourse comments? In addition, how the ethical controversy should be explained, as the book of Esther is in some way too Jewish and full of revenge and massacre? In view of this, I will explore allusion between the narrative of Joseph in the book of genesis and the book of Esther. That is, I will explore how Joseph narrative affects the book of Esther through their similarities. From this we can see author’s implied judgment which is the author's appraisal of the words and deeds of various characters in the book of Esther. Then, we can get the answers of ethical controversy and author’s theology in the book of Esther.
