This article attempts to depict the basic characteristics of eco-Judaism in the field of "Ecology and Religion." To accomplish this task, this article first grounds itself in an interactive theoretical view adopted by Lynn White in the field of environmental ethics. It then explores the historical aspects of the ecological crisis in contemporary Israel, that is, Zionist inclinations to conquer nature and stretching back to Rabbinic Judaism's historical understanding of exile and return. Through this, we can confirm the core elements of the relationship between Judaism and the ecological environment. Next, through Franz Rosenzweig's theological exposition of the Star of David, the article discusses how Judaism can offer something sufficient to establish a conceptual framework for an ecological worldview and provide an environmental friendly model of understanding for the dialectical relationship between people and the land. Thus, a rough outline eco-Judaism will gradually emerge.
