COVID-19 poses severe challenges to schools, teachers, and students alike when schools are required to switch to virtual learning. Since a majority of teachers including art teachers have not been specifically trained to manage online instruction, there are certain pedagogical difficulties to overcome and this is particularly true for those pre-service art teachers. This article explored the potential of Bitmoji art rooms as one of the learning management systems (LMSs) based upon the principle of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) with a view to engaging students in various meaningful ways of learning in and beyond the classroom.
