Iris Murdoch, as one of the most influential British writers since the second World War, with a wide international reputation, has a wealth of moral philosophy. Her moral philosophy view is mainly embodied in her prolific works of art and philosophical monographs, especially in her novels. She successfully initiates the marriage between moral philosophy and literature, becoming a famous novelist and publishing works of serious moral philosophy. In her opinion, modern moral philosophy has been trapped in the mire of reductionism, which requires us to return to Plato as she understands, advocating moral realism, paying attention to the good in people’s real life, and realizing the good and good life through art, religion and other forms. Murdoch’s literary works spread her moral philosophy widely. Her unique view in moral philosophy has the original contribution to the twentieth century moral philosophy while having an important impact and enlightenment significance for moral future development.
