This study examines global trends, reflects upon creative aging, and analyzes the significance of arts education for the senior in Taiwan by taking picture book making as an approach to the pedagogical goal of transformative learning of the senior for the blueprint of creative aging. Methodologically, a collection and analysis of data on the field observations, questionnaires, interviews, focus group discussions, and picture books of senior students was made. The study in the end listed the advantages of picture book making as an approach that included helping the senior to overcome their fears and learn joyfully, prompting the senior to find their identity through their stories, encouraging the senior to present their artworks, stimulating creativity and innovation of the senior, and assisting seniors in achieving goals of transformative learning.
