In order to improve students’ learning outcomes, instructors can incorporate tools into the learning environment to induce learners to learn and to stimulate their interest. Virtual reality (VR) has recently been applied to art creation. This study utilized VR to view artworks so that learners could experience art virtually with increased motivation, and to create a learning context for students to accumulate aesthetic experiences. A focused interview with eight students was conducted. The students were asked to take a “Form and Elements of Beauty Course” and then use VR to view artworks. The study found that it was the first time for most of the students to use VR to view artwork, and they found it novel and interesting.
