本論文透過建構主義的視角來尋找中美競爭的性質、以及其對越南發展的影響等問題的答案，從而，提出越南可能做出的選擇。筆者認為中美競爭升溫雖然給越南帶來若干機會與挑戰，但是尚未能夠嚴重地影響越南戰略目標。儘管如此，這場競爭已經引起了國際形勢不斷變化，因此，越南必須做出相應的回應。這些回應只是在策略層面上推出。這意味著面對美中競爭日益升溫，越南仍然堅定既有的戰略選擇，而進行策略上的若干調整。

This paper attempts to apply the theory of constructivism to map out the instincts of US-China competitions and the impacts of these competitions on Vietnam. Based on these answers, Vietnam’s strategic choices are revealed. The main argument of this paper is that US-China competitions bring various opportunities and challenges to Vietnam. In fact, these competitions have not yet impacted Vietnam’s strategic choices. To a certain extent, US-China competitions lead Vietnam to perceive the change of international structure as its interactions with the US and China, respectively. Consequently, Vietnam was forced to opt for responses. The responses are mainly initiated at the tactical level. This means that Vietnam still retains its strategic choice as the tension of US-China competitions rises.
