東正教具有悠久的歷史和獨特的文化傳統，與天主教和基督新教相比，該教雖在亞太地區已有三百多年的歷史，但在亞太地區始終無法獲得充分的擴展。本文擬以當代俄羅斯東正教在華人社會的發展做為討論重點，針對東正教傳入華人社會的歷史背景和在香港的發展，分析當代香港聖彼得聖保羅堂區的發展現況，以理解東正教在華人社會的多元型態現象。東正教作為西方宗教，其信仰和文化與華人傳統宗教信仰具有明顯差異。本研究試圖通過理解俄羅斯東正教在香港的發展等問題，提供一份對香港東正教的微觀研究，以助於學界能更加全面地瞭解東正教在華人社會的發展。

Eastern Orthodoxy has a long history and unique cultural traditions, but compared with Catholicism and Protestantism, it has never been able to fully expand into the Asian Pacific region, despite its more than 300 year history there. This paper centers the discussion on the development of the Russian Eastern Orthodox Church in contemporary Chinese society, focusing on the historical background for its transmission into Chinese society and its growth in Hong Kong. It analyzes the current situation of expansion of the contemporary Sts. Peter and Paul’s Parish Church in Hong Kong, in order to understand the phenomenon of diversity in Eastern Orthodoxy within Chinese society. As a western religion, Eastern Orthodoxy exhibits obvious differences from traditional Chinese religions in terms of beliefs and culture. This research offers a microstudy of Eastern Orthodoxy in Hong Kong by attempting to better understand the issue of the development of the Russian Eastern Orthodox church in Hong. In doing so, the research may help scholars to better fully grasp the development of Eastern Orthodoxy in Chinese society.
