六○年代源自美國的環保思潮和環保運動，此環保風吹遍了全球各國，亦形成許多有影響力的環保學派。可是空氣污染、氣候變遷、地球暖化等顯示大自然依舊不斷惡化，生態危機依舊未解除；國際組織雖提出許多對策，但成效有限。2015年3月，教宗方濟各頒布《願祢受讚頌》通諭，這通諭是天主教會第一次以「關懷生態」為主題的通諭；通諭頒布之後，吸引了媒體及全球的關注，整個天主教會的士氣為之大振；本文想追問的是：這通諭真的優於當代的環境思想嗎？為答覆這問題，採用了文獻分析法和比較法，將全文分為三部分來闡述：1.當代環境思想的三大學派，2.《願祢受讚頌》通諭的要點，3.《願祢受讚頌》通諭跳脫三大學派的框架。本研究的結果發現這綠色通諭，將天主教的「團結關懷」等社會思想延伸至自然生態的關懷，而融合而成的「整體生態學」，解決了當代三大環境思潮的困境，而比這些思想略勝一籌，值得世人參考及實踐這整體生態學的理念。

In the 1960s, the environmental thought and movement originated from the United States. This environmental trend has spread all over the world, and many influential environmental schools have also been formed. However, air pollution, climate change, and global warming show that nature is still deteriorating, and the ecological crisis is still unresolved. Although international organizations have proposed many related strategies, the results have been limited. In March 2015, Pope Francis promulgated the encyclical Laudato Si’, which was the first encyclical issued by the Catholic Church with the theme of “care for ecology”. After the encyclical was promulgated, it attracted media and global attention; the morale of the entire Catholic Church was greatly boosted. What this paper wants to ask is: Is this encyclical really superior to contemporary environmental thoughts? In order to answer this question, literature analysis and comparative methods are adopted, and the paper is divided into three parts to elaborate: Firstly, the three major schools of contemporary environmental thought; Secondly, the main points of the encyclical Laudato Si’; Finally, the encyclical Laudato Si’ goes beyond the framework of the three schools of thought. The results of this study found that this green encyclical extended Catholic social teachings such as “solidarity” to the care of natural ecology, and the Integral Ecology might solve the dilemma of the three major environmental thoughts nowadays. This encyclical is slightly better than the latter, especially its concept of Integral Ecology is quite worthy of our reference and practice.
