通諭《願祢受讚頌》除了讓全世界更加正視環保和永續發展外，也讓我們得以窺見教宗方濟各對天主教倫理神學的理念。教宗並非一如既往地討論特定的倫理議題，而是強調造成這些倫理問題的社會經濟之大環境。此觀點的基礎來自於他視整個世界為一種相互交織的網路關係。本文先描述在通諭《願祢受讚頌》中，教宗對天主教倫理神學的看法，接著探討教宗期望天主教倫理神學能透過憐憫的心陪伴人們、持續與各界對話、醫療須重視正義與關懷，以及建構社會良知等不同層面，發揮先知性的角色。

Laudato Si’ has put environmental protection and sustainability back in the world agenda. This encyclical also provides a glimpse into Pope Francis’ approach to Catholic theological ethics. He redirects the focus of bioethical discussions from specific ethical issues to the socio-economic situations in which these issues arise. His approach is drawn from his understanding of reality as an interwoven network of relationships. This paper, after describing Pope Francis’ approach to Catholic theological ethics in Laudato Si’, proposes that Pope Francis urges the Catholic church to play a prophetic role in ethical matters by meeting people where they are and accompany them with mercy, engaging the world in dialogue, emphasizing justice and care in healthcare and fostering the conscience of the society.
