人居留於世界，通過「居」建立起自己與空間最為密切的關係。人類賦予空間以結構和價值來滿足自己的身體、生活和生命發展的需要，同時被居住空間及其價值所規定，使「居」成為人的生活世界最本質的表達。在人類的價值譜系中，人們對定居、安居和樂居的價值追求及其所凝結成的居住價值佔有至關重要的地位。其中，定居奠定了人類生活世界的價值始基；安居則為生活世界的鞏固與永續發展提供了價值樞機；樂居則在精神的超越層面，推動人從自在走向自為，將生活世界提升到詩意栖居境界。三者體現並促使人類不斷追求一種既浸潤生活倫理要義、又彰顯生活倫理神韻、且不斷叩問「生活世界」意義的居住價值體系，引領人們不懈追求並創造富有價值的美好生活。

Human live in the world, through “residence”, to establish the closest relationship with space. People give space structure and value to meet the needs of their own body, living and life development, at the same time, stipulated by these living space and their values, which turn “residence” into an essential expression of the human life world. In the pedigree of value, settled residence, safe one and delightful one, which always are pursued by people and finally condensed residential value, occupy a vital position, of which settlement lays the value foundation of the human living world; safe residence provides the central and core essence of value for the consolidation and sustainable development of the living world; delightful residence, at a higher spiritual value level, promotes people from being-for-self to conducting-for-self, improving the living world to a higher and more free realm, that is to say, poetically dwelling on this earth. The three reflect and urge human to constantly aspire a value system of residence that infiltrates the essence of life ethics but also highlights the charm of life ethics, and persist questioning the significance of “living world”, leading people to unremittingly pursue a better life.
