文章主要論述「中華國樂會」的創立，及其日後對臺灣國樂發展的影響為主軸。從中也論述該會對於中國音樂的各種面貌包含國樂教育的建設、古代音樂的恢復與研究、樂器製作與研創、輔導籌組國樂團、舉辦各種國樂演奏會與國樂比賽、鼓勵創作國樂作品、出版書譜與錄製音帶唱片、進行海內外音樂交流與學術講座等，可謂無役不與，且力行實踐。尤其對於現代化國樂的組建與催生，貢獻良多。今日現代國樂的概念已在國樂各界普遍週知，也透過前輩對國樂創作不間斷的呼籲，始成今日臺灣國樂豐盈的面貌，「中華國樂會」應是功不可沒。今日該會仍持續成長，並對臺灣國樂各界提供友善的支持環境，此亦是臺灣國樂發展的善緣。本文的史料梳理與書寫，亦有對現代音樂史紀錄的心意。

This study explored the founding of the Chinese Music Association (now Chinese Music Association, Taiwan, R.O.C.) and its impact on Chinese music in Taiwan. It also explored the association’s endeavours to contribute to Chinese music, including introducing Chinese music education, restoring and researching ancient music, producing and innovating with instruments, guiding and organising Chinese music ensembles, hosting Chinese music performances and competitions, encouraging Chinese music composition, publishing sheet music, releasing tapes and albums, organising lectures, and facilitating academic exchanges with the international music community. The association is involved in every aspect of these endeavours and has made key contributions to modern Chinese music. Modern Chinese music has become well known in the field of Chinese music, not least because of predecessors’ calls for Taiwan to continue producing Chinese music; the Chinese Music Association deserved credit for this accomplishment. The association continues to grow and provide a friendly and supportive environment for Taiwan’s Chinese music to advance. Similar to the association, this study documents the history of modern music by presenting historical materials.
