從事戶外工作的勞工，特別是在荒野、中低海拔山區工作者，可能會遭遇毒蛇咬傷的職業傷害。現場第一時間急救處置，及正確辨認毒蛇，給予後送醫療單位明確的訊息，即刻投予正確抗毒蛇血清，及加強支持療法及預防感染、能大幅減低蛇毒所造成的併發症及後遺症。

Snakebite is a common injury in subtropics. In this paper., a 65year-old man was bitten at work. He felt severe pain and the right hand became greatly swollen quickly. He visited hospital 30 minutes later. Because he did not identify what kind of the snakes correctly, the antivenin for this patient was no effective. He developed large hemorrhagic bulla over the right hand and upward to the right forearm. The clinical pictures and laboratory data showed he had suffered the disseminated intravascular coagulation and sepsis. After consultation of infectious and hematologic doctors, the patient received full supportive treatment and adequate doses of correct antivenin. He recovered completely. We strongly recommend the early correct identification of what kind of snakebite is essential to prevent disastrous sequelae.
