However, due to Zhang’s high quality of western learning and his lack of Chinese philosophy, he neglected the commonness and commonality of Chinese and western philosophy of language, and belittled and despised Chinese philosophy of language, which was an unforgivable mistake of his philosophy of language. Therefore, it is of great significance to study and summarize the theoretical gains and losses of Zhang Dongsun’s philosophy of language, which can contribute to the construction of the philosophy of language system with Chinese characteristics.
