This research attempts to analyze the habitus of Taiwanese female K-pop fans in the post-Korean wave era. Through in-depth interviews, this study focuses on K-pop fans’ imagination and consumption of Korean pop culture products, and explores their transformation of identities from individuals to fandom, and from media content producers to audiences. It is found that, firstly, in the post-Korean wave context, since various texts are converged on social media, K-pop fans actualize their imagination through the consumption of such K-culture goods as foods and fashion. In addition, they practice their admiration and imagination of K-culture through transnational rituals, including visiting Korean drama or variety show attractions, and participating in oversea autograph signing events or concerts of their idols. Secondly, K-pop fans present diverse and dislocated identities in the cultural atmosphere of post-Korean wave. K-pop worship is no longer an individual practice, but a group activity; the daily lives of K-pop fans and their idols closely overlap, resulting in the fans’ mixed identities of both media text producers and receivers; K-pop fans display their consumer or producer identities through “Vidder” practices, poaching, remixing, and modifying K-pop video texts constantly.
