The article uses documents and unearthed materials such as Shuihudi Qin-Dynasty bamboo slips, Zhangjiashan Han-Dynasty bamboo slips, and Juyan bamboo slips to clarify the process of passing through guans in the Han Dynasty. On the one hand, the interpretation of the three words “zhi”, “ji” and “zhi-ji” used to pass through guans in the Han Dynasty is explained; on the other hand, the transformation from “zhi”, “ji” to “zhi-ji” is organized, and reunderstand Xu Shen's explanation of “zhi”, “ji”. I think that the procedures of passing through guans consisted of “chuan”, “zhi” and “ji” in the early Han Dynasty, and after the middle Han Dynasty, they consisted of “chuan”, “move” and “zhi-ji”. The biggest change was the emergence of "zhi-ji".
