臺灣東部海岸地區易受暴潮危害的海岸防風林孔隙,可用種子保護罩直播造林系統培育木賊葉木麻黃造林。為了促進此法的施肥效果,以及降低土壤水分不足對幼苗的危害,本研究之目的探討施肥、澆水及種子保護罩對幼苗生長之影響。研究結果顯示,有機肥因不具控制緩慢釋放養分的機制,易對稚苗期的小苗產生肥害,以緩效性肥料施入種子保護罩內是促進幼苗生長效果最佳的施肥方式,直播2.5年的幼苗建立率可達87±7%,地徑4.7±0.2cm,樹高374±13cm,樹冠幅209±11cm。播種初期配合澆水能夠降低小苗乾旱缺水導致枯死的風險,是促進直播造林成效的有效措施;使用改良型種子保護罩的播種成效較原型種子保護罩佳,並可改善不易施肥的缺點。研究成果可增加種子保護罩直播造林系統之實務性,提供臺灣東部海岸地區易受暴潮之海岸林地,直播造林作業之參考。
Gaps in coastal windbreaks on the east coast of Taiwan are vulnerable to storm surges, presenting an opportunity for establishing Casuarina equisetifolia using the hole-seeding method with seed shelters. This study aims to enhance the fertilization efficiency of this method and mitigate damage from insufficient soil moisture on seedlings'growth. The investigation explores the impacts of fertilization, watering, and seed shelters on seedling development. Results indicate that organic manures lacking a controlled and slow-release mechanism for nutrients can be toxic to young seedlings. Applying slow-release fertilizers within the seed shelter yielded the best seedling growth performance. For 2.5-year-old seedlings, establishment rates reached 87% ± 7%, with a root collar diameter of 4.7 ± 0.2 cm, a seedling height of 374 ± 13 cm, and a canopy diameter of 209 ± 11 cm. Watering significantly reduced the risk of seedling mortality due to drought, effectively enhancing seedling establishment. Furthermore, the improved seed shelter outperformed the prototype one, addressing previous challenges related to fertilization. These research findings can be applied to improve the practical implementation of the hole-seeding method with seed shelters and offer valuable insights for direct seeding in areas susceptible to storm surges along the east coast of Taiwan.
