人類學提出身體感概念，作為研究物與物質文化的可能途徑。本文試圖由身體經驗解讀《香乘》，希望能從身體感理論來談香作為物如何被身體經驗，經驗香的「體物」過程又分別由哪些身體感項目所啟動？在體物致知後，又如何從文獻資料所提供的線索，找出身體感知影響香品之辨的脈絡？此外，身體感項目可經由學習訓練使生手成為專家，《香乘》作者周嘉冑又是如何成為試香、識香又嗜香的香事領域專家？希望以此初步探索，作為香譜文獻不同研究進路的叩門磚。

Anthropology introduces the concept of "shentigan" as a potential approach to studying objects and material culture. This article attempts to interpret "Siang Cheng" through bodily experiences, aiming to discuss how incense, as an object, is experienced through the theory of "shentigan." Which aspects of "shentigan" activate the process of experiencing the "physicality" of incense? After gaining knowledge through bodily interaction, how can one then use clues provided by textual evidence to trace the context in which bodily perception influences the discernment of different incense products? Furthermore, the categories of "shentigan" can be honed through training, transforming novices into experts. How did Zhou Jiachao, the author of "Siang Cheng," become an expert in the field of incense, skilled in testing, recognizing, and enjoying it? This preliminary exploration hopes to serve as a stepping stone for different research approaches to incense compendium.
