In this study, machine stress rating (MSR) was used to assess the stress levels of Cunninghamia lanceolata, Cryptomeria japonica, and Taiwania cryptomerioides. The strength properties of the specimens with identical stress levels were analyzed, and simultaneously, the influence of the feeding orientation on bending properties was examined. Additionally, the correlation between static and continuous bending tests was evaluated. The results of the bending properties indicate that the modulus of elasticity (MOE_(MSR)) values for all three timber types, as measured by MSR, fall within the same grade. Furthermore, the MOE_(Bending) value obtained from the universal strength testing machine was observed to be overestimated compared to the value derived from MSR measurements. Analysis of Modulus of rupture (MOR), shear strength, and compression strength revealed a ranking of C. japonica > T. cryptomerioides > C. Ianceolata, indicating a significant influence of tree species and density on these properties. The stress-strain curve illustrates an initial slip for all three specimens, with the slope showing that C. japonica exhibits the highest elasticity and proportional limit performance, followed by C. lanceolata and T. cryptomerioides. Considering the feeding board orientation, no significant differences were observed in MOE_(MSR), MOE_(100 kN) and MOE_(5 kN) within the same species (p > 0.05). However, the MOE value of C. japonica was significantly higher than that of C. lanceolata and T. cryptomerioides (p < 0.05).
