幼兒階段實施生死議題教育是難為而應為的教育專業,因為挑戰社會文化禁忌和考驗教師教學專業而頗受爭議。本研究透過文獻探討、訪談、開放性問卷填答進行在幼兒階段實施生死議題教育的論述。研究結果顯示:在幼兒階段實施生死議題教育有其需要性和可能性,但仍具有爭議性,實施前要先澄清其內涵,並採隨機教育機會和多元教學策略。

英文摘要

Teaching children in early childhood handling the subject of death is under dispute because death is a taboo in Chinese culture. It is also a
challenge to teachers in Taiwan because they generally lack of pedagogical
knowledge about death. In this study, literature about Life-and-Death
Education (LDE) is collected and organized fi rst to understand the recent
development and situation of LDE in Taiwan. Opinions on LDE in early
childhood are then collected with questionnaire investigation and interview.
Results shows that most participants consider the LDE is needed and can be applied to children in early childhood. According to the literature
review and participants’ opinions, we suggest that early childhood
educators need pedagogical knowledge of LDE. In addition, while they
put LDE in practice, the educators should be cautious because this issue
is still very sensitive for some people in Taiwan.
