彰化斷層位處八卦台地西緣,與東側車籠埔斷層相鄰,為一快速抬升的新期構造,具孕育大地震的潛能,且緊臨人口密集區,可能引發嚴重地震災害,值得研究重視。大地測量是獲取構造運動速率最直接的方式,可據以評估地殼變形型態與斷層活動特性,並藉以了解是否有應變累積現象及發生地震的潛能。本研究主要目的是應用地理資訊系統結合不同時期位於彰化斷層及車籠埔斷層附近之大地測量資料(三角點、GPS衛星控制點及水準點),分析探討彰化斷層地表變形速率及活動特性,以提供地震防災參考。研究發現彰化斷層下盤以西平原區呈下降趨勢、上盤以東地區呈上升趨勢、斷層北段呈下降趨勢且水平運動方向相反,斷層中段及南段則呈上升趨勢。彰化斷層與車籠埔斷層間水平及垂直變動率有逐年增大之趨勢,應具有應變累積現象,有潛藏地震的可能。其次由位於車籠埔斷層附近點位其震前、震間水平運動速率及方向的變化與高程垂直變動,可作為地震發生的前兆現象。由本研究成果得知應用地理資訊系統結合大地測量資料,分析地殼變形型態及斷層活動特性,似乎具有良好之可行性。

英文摘要

Changhua Fault is located at the western side of Bagua Tableland and next to the eastern side of Chelungpu Fault. It is a new tectonic of rapid uplift and possesses the potential of forming big earthquakes. It is also close to the high density of population area and possibly causing serious earthquake hazard. Therefore, it should be studied and paid attention. Geodetic surveying is the direct way to acquire the rate of tectonic activity. The rate of active tectonic can be used to evaluate the crust deformation and characteristics of fault activities. It is also used to understand the potential of phenomenon of strain accumulation and earthquake. The purpose of this study is to combine GIS with the data of triangulation, GPS, and level control points located at Changhua Fault and Chelungpu Fault over the various periods and to analyze the crust deformation rate and activity characteristics of Changhua Fault so that the result can be provided as reference of earthquake disaster prevention. The result shows that the plain area of the west side below Changhua Fault possess the descending trend, the east side above Changhua Fault is the uplift trend, north segment of fault goes down and has opposite direction of horizontal movement, and central and southern segment of fault have the uplifting trend. The horizontal and vertical movement rate of Changhua Fault and Chelungpu Fault is increasing annually. They should have the potential of phenomenon of strain accumulation and earthquake. In addition, due to the variation of vertical movement and horizontal movement rate and direction of pre-seismic and co-seismic near Chelungpu Fault, they can be regarded as the prediction of earthquake happening. This study demonstrates that combing GIS with geodetic surveying data to analyzed crust deformation and characteristics of fault movement seems show good feasibility.
