在急性腎盂腎炎且無尿路阻塞的患者中，很少有併發腎衰竭的病例，雖然在成人中尿路感染是常見的疾病，卻很少因此導致急性腎衰竭，在急性腎衰竭的病人之中，也很少是由急性腎盂腎所引起。在文獻上只有少數幾個病例報告，我們在此報告一例因為急性腎盂腎炎併發急性腎衰竭的病例。

Acute renal failure is a rare complication of acute pyelonephritis in patients without urinary obstruction. Although urinary tract infections are common in adults, pyelonephritis is rarely con-sidered in the differential diagnosis of acute renal failure nor is renal failure considered a likely consequence of bacteriuria. Only few cases of acute renal failure due to acute pyelonephritis have been reported in the literature. Herein, we reported a case of acute pyelonephritis compli-cated with acute renal failure.(J Urol R.O.C., 9:208-210,1998)
