本論文提出一種創新的太陽能電池與通訊裝置內藏式WWAN(Wireless Wide Area Network)天線整合的設計技術。我們在手機WWAN模組所連接小尺寸系統接地面上設計一電氣連接的耦合導體結構,耦合激發機殼上的離散太陽能電池金屬電極,使其共振形成手機內藏式天線第二個有效的延伸接地面。如此可大幅提升小尺寸WWAN天線元件較低系統頻段的操作頻寬與遠場輻射效率,達成多頻段操作之需求。並且能增加手機近場熱點(Hot Spot)與人體頭部之間的距離,因此手機裝置能具有較低的人體電磁波吸收率(SAR,Specific Absorption Rate)以及與助聽器相容(HAC,Hearing Aids Compatibility)特性數值。運用這樣的設計概念,可以同時增加太陽能電池的功能性以及提高手機內藏式天線的操作性能。我們所設計完成的實驗原型,可使得內藏式WAN天線成功激發雙寬頻的操作頻寬,涵蓋LTE700/GSM850/900以 及GSM1800/1900/UMTS/LTE2300/2500共八系統頻段操作,滿足2G/3G/4G通訊系統所需要的操作頻寬需求。
A novel technology for applications of integrating solar cells and internal handset WWAN antenna is presented. By designing a coupling metal structure short-circuited to the small-size ground plane of handset WWAN module, to excite the distributed electrodes of solar cells disposed on the handset casing, the series solar cells can equivalently form another second ground for the antenna. By this method, the lower operating bandwidth and radiation efficiency of the internal WWAN antenna can be greatly enhanced for multiband operation. Beside, the distance between the energy hot spot and the user’s head could thus be increased for obtaining lower SAR and HAC values of the phone. With this approach, the functionality of solar cells and internal antenna performance can both be increased. The constructed proposed antenna shows that two wide operating bandwidth can be generated successfully to easily cover the LTE700/GSM850/900 and GSM1800/1900/UMTS/LTE2300/2500 bands for 2G/3G/4G systems operation.
