本文針對H.264/AVC多視角編碼標準,提出三個加速移動估計與視差估計之演算法。首先,藉由分析基礎視角與錨框頁的移動向量與視差向量之分布狀況,來挑選一合適的移動估計與視差估計搜尋範圍,以減少整數點移動估計與視差估計運算量,另外,在降低高精確度移動估計複雜度方面,我們提出一減少搜尋模式之方法,藉由利用整數點移動估計的結果、巨集區塊的材質複雜度與相鄰視角間的相似性,來自動關閉模式P8x8及各分割的高精確度移動向量或視差向量修正,此外,亦採用預測的移動向量之方向來減少高精確度移動估計的搜尋點數。所提出的三個加速演算法已整合在一硬體移動估計單元中,並達成立體視角HD1080p視訊即時編碼之效果。

英文摘要

In this paper, we propose three speedup algorithms for H.264/AVC multiview motion and disparity estimation. By analyzing the motion and disparity vector distribution in neighboring views and anchor frames respectively, an adequate motion and disparity search range can be chosen to reduce the computation complexity. Furthermore, to reduce the computation time of fractional motion estimation, a mode reduction method is presented. By exploiting the results of integer motion estimation, texture complexity, and the similarity between views, the mode P8x8 can be adaptively turned off and only one of integer motion vector or disparity vector is chosen to refine. In addition, only 8 fractional positions instead of 17 are estimated by using the direction of the predicted motion vector. These three algorithms are integrated in a hardware motion estimation unit and achieve real-time encoding for the stereoscopic HD1080p sequences.
