病情告知是醫師臨床常見的臨床業務，但是在醫學教育過程中卻常被忽略。歐美等國多半運用SPIKES 模式來進行癌症病情告知溝通技巧訓練(communication skill training, CST)，其效益已被許多實證支持。礙於東西方文化與醫療環境的差異，台灣發展癌症病情告知教育時，採用的是日本SHARE 模式，目前雖已發現初步效益，但仍需要投入更多時間精力進行相關研究，並依據本土實證修改SHARE模式，才能進一步發展出屬於台灣本土化的癌症病情告知教育模式，進而提升告知品質與醫病關係，並降低不必要的醫療糾紛。

Truth-telling is a common clinical operation of doctors; however, it is usually ignored in medicaleducation. European countries and the United States use the SPIKES Model for communication skill training(CST) of truth-telling for cancer, and its effectiveness has been empirically supported. Due to the differencesbetween Eastern and Western cultures and in medical environment, the Japanese SHARE Model is used in thedevelopment of education of truth-telling for cancer in Taiwan. Although preliminary effectiveness has beenachieved, more time and efforts are still required to be spent on conducting relevant studies. Moreover, onlywhen the SHARE Model is amended according to the local empirical findings can a local education model oftruth-telling for cancer specific to Taiwan be further developed to improve the quality of truth-telling anddoctor-patient relationship, as well as to reduce unnecessary medical disputes.
