本文利用語料庫檢索研究南北朝飲食相關動詞，以比較南北異同。發現單音節新詞新義性質偏於口語，除了佛經之外，多出現於南方。可為顏之推所謂南方多鄙俗；北方多古語之證明。至於飲食動詞雙音組合的差異，除與社會文化息息相關，故南北有多寡之別外，尚有組合成份不同之異。如常見主導詞「飲」之組合見於南北。而「食」的組合形成較晚，多見於南方。除了主導詞外也有非主導詞互相組合如「飡茹」、「飡餌」者，是亦南北有別處。藉由各種飲食動詞單、雙音的組合，我們可以系統地呈現出中古時期詞彙南北差異。

This paper is concerning about the Middle Ancient Chinese lexical research: It is an important task to discover the linguistic differences between the South and the North during the Southern and Northern Dynasties period. Prior discussions have always concentrated on phonological aspects, while lexical studies are nearly entirely absent. In this paper, we propose a systematic methodology to unearth lexical differences. We found out the Lexical Differences between South and North by the New Middle Chinese Verbs About Eating and Drinking.
