載波聚合(carrier aggregation)是目前無線寬頻通信網路標準中增加服務品質的方法。此功能可允許單一基地台利用多個分量載波(component carrier;CC)的無線資源來同時服務用戶端以提高整體傳輸量(throughput)。以3 GPPLTE系統為例,在版本10的規範中,一基地台可使用最多高達100 MHz的下行頻譜資源來服務用戶設備,配合多天線技術可提供高達3 Gbps的傳輸效率。此外,一個具有載波聚合存取能力的用戶設備可同時於多個分量載波上執行接收及(/或)傳送的功能。而為了考慮用戶端的電量消耗,載波聚合系統也支援分量載波的啟動(activation)及停用(deactivation)的功能。本論文探討在一用戶設備在剛接收一分量載波的啟動指令後隨即收到回報該分量載波的通道狀態訊息的指示。由於硬體上的限制使得用戶端無法及時進行量測,使得該次的通道狀態回報將被視為一無效的回報。本文針對該無效的通道狀態回報提出了進一步提升資源效率的方法。
Carrier aggregation (CA) is a mechanism to increase the bandwidth of a wireless communication system to further improve the service qualities. This feature a llows scalable expansion of effective bandwidth delivered to a user terminal through concurrent utilization of radio resources across multiple component carriers (CCs). A UE with reception and/or transmission capabilities for CA can simultaneously receive and/or transmit on multiple CCs corresponding to multiple serving cells. To enable reasonable UE battery consumption, the activation/deactivation of cells is supported. In this document, we present our view on designing the invalid channel status information (CSI) reporting method when UE just received a CC activation command and the corresponding CSI measurement is not ready yet.
