研究目的:探討研究對象在國中三年期間之重要他人情感關係及自尊的現況與變化趨勢,以及前者對後者的預測情形。研究方法:採縱貫設計,以北市兩國中94學年度七年級學生為母群,隨機選取9班274名進行3次調查,再採t檢定及廣義估計方程式進行分析。研究結果:1. 研究對象三年整體自尊及生活自尊皆偏正,且女生高於男生。2. 男生整體自尊三年間先升後降,但女生僅在八至九年級間下降。男生社會自尊在七至八年級間上升;而家庭自尊在八至九年級間下降。3. 研究對象三年之重要他人情感關係皆偏親密,且呈穩定狀態。4. 男生重要他人情感關係與整體自尊、生活自尊呈正向關係;而同儕情感關係與整體自尊、社會自尊呈正向關係。5. 女生重要他人情感關係與社會自尊、家庭自尊呈正向關係;而同儕情感關係與學業自尊、社會自尊呈正向關係。研究結論:研究對象國中時期的自尊及重要他人情感關係都偏正,且整體自尊有變化;重要他人情感關係可預測自尊。

英文摘要

Purpose: The aims of this study were to investigate the status and trend of relationship of significant others and self-esteem in the three-year middle school period, and to explore the influence of relationship of significant others on self-esteem. Methods: By using random sampling method, 9 classes, 274 seventh grade students were selected from two Taipei junior high schools and followed for three years. Three wave data was collected with self-administered questionnaire, and analyzed with t test and generalized estimating equations. Results: 1. The scores of global self-esteem and self-esteem in aspects of life scale were all above average. Moreover, girls’ global, social, and family self-esteem were higher than boys’. 2. The boys’ global self-esteem increased from 7th to 8th grade then decreased from 8th to 9th grade. The girls’ global self-esteem decreased from 8th to 9th grade. The boys’ social esteem increased from 7th to 8th grade. The boys’ family esteem decreased from 8th to 9th grade. 3. The scores of relationship of significant others were above average. 4. The relationship of significant others was stable in the three year period. 5. Among boys, the relationship of significant others was positively related to global self-esteem and self-esteem in aspects of life scale. Also, peer relationship was positively related to global self-esteem and social esteem. 6. Among girls, the relationship of significant others was positively related to social esteem and family esteem. Also, peer relationship was positively related to academic esteem and social esteem. Conclusions and Implications for Practice: The relationship with significant others and self-esteem of the subjects were positive. However, the trend of self-esteem and the relationship with significant others were different in gender. The relationship with significant others was positively correlated with global self-esteem and self-esteem in aspects of life scale. We suggested that concerning students’ self-esteem development and help them to form high-quality relationship with significant others.
