電影不僅是一種藝術形式，更是各種多元社會的實踐。恐怖驚悚類型，一直是好萊塢、歐、亞等洲影業主流路線之一，近年來全球各地也紛紛造究出一股黑色旋風，事實上這類電影本身就是一個巨大的符號，透過電影鏡頭的陳述及影片符號的創建，將人性中對無以言說的恐怖與恐懼認知，轉化成充滿戲劇張力刺激的視覺快感。本研究從 2005~2006年台北電影票房排名中，抽取恐怖驚悚類電影為樣本，探討其所運用的符號，採內容分析法、KJ法及索緒爾符號學理論加以分析，結果發現：(1)影片使用符號具 (Signifier)，可歸納六種項分析類目，並以角色、器物兩類資料量最多共佔 76%以上；(2)死亡威脅成為主流，殺人魔、利刃等符號使用皆達 7次以上；(3)在懲罰凌虐當道情形下，殺人魔、利刃等殺戮與死亡的符號，目前多轉變為暴力懲罰凌虐的代表；(4)靈異未知的體驗仍是這類電影喜愛的主題；(5)屬廣播符碼的樣本其指涉內容經驗普及，故其意義較易解讀。總之，這類電影將原單純指涉生理刺激反應的恐懼感覺，轉化成多元性、無涉真實的符號語言以供消費，期待透過本研究可提供後續相關研究之參考。

A movie is not only an art but also puts the diversity society into practice. Scary horror films are always one of the leading movies in Hollywood, Europe, and Asia. Recently, such a scary tornado has whirled into the whole world. In fact, this kind of movie is a giant symbol, which portraits a wordless dread and terror cognition through making a statement from camera lens and building film symbols. The sample in this study is chosen from a larger sample of scary horror films which eked out a box-office win in Taipei from 2005 to 2006. The study uses content analysis, KJ method, and Saussure semiology theory to examine the symbols presented in those moviethes. Results inare as the following： (1) There are six kinds of signifier, among which over seventy-six percent was characters and implements. (2) The main plot is dead threat. The symbols of notorious killers and the edge of a knife were presented more than seven times. (3) Punishment and torture are in power these days. Under this circumstance, the symbols of killing and dead, such as notorious killers and the edge of a knife, are transferred to the represent of violeut punishment of torture. (4) The experiences of unknown mystery are still the favor of this kind of movies. (5) It is much pu easier to decode the meaning from samples of the broadcast symbols because those samples involve in general experience. To sum up, the feeling of fear which means physical stimulation reaction only was changed into fantastic diverse symbol languages for consuming in this kind of movies. The result is expected to provide references for related studies in the future.
