中國詩歌史上最偉大的浪漫派詩人一李白，其詩歌風格多變，內容如百川納海。杜松柏在《禪學與唐宋詩學》中談到詩人李白集中多禪理詩，阮廷瑜以李白愛禪味而時觸禪機，陳祥龍也以李白詩文反映與佛教因緣匪淺。葛景春認為李白與佛教的關係絕不下於他與道教的關係。在流放夜郎前後，與佛門禪僧交遊的詩文特別多。
李白詩歌中有不用佛典，不涉禪語，然詩句中自然流轉著無限機趣，而更多詩歌中隨處可見禪宗所重經典，如:{楞嚴經》、《華嚴經》、《維摩詰經》、《法華經》等，以禪理、禪語直接入詩，富含禪機與禪趣。以下試以王琦注《李太白全集》為文本，試探李白詩中富含禪機的禪趣詩及禪理詩。

The poetry style of Li Po， the greatest Chinese romantic poet of all time， is as varied as can be just like the sea into which numerous rivers flow. In Zen and Poetry of Tang and Song Dynω紗，Du Song-bo expresses that the logic of Mahayana Buddhism， of which Zen is one school， is fully reflected in quite a few poems of Li Po's. Ruan Tin-yu is convinced that Li Po is so fond of Zen that he frequently uses Buddhist allegoric words to show Zen wits in his poems. Chen Zuo-lung also considers Li Po's poems closely related to the cause of Buddhism. Ge Jing-chun believes that Li Po is no less related to Buddhism than to Taoism with regard to the fact that he writes even more poems about befriending Buddhist monks during his exile in Ye Lang.

The lyrics in Li Po's poetry are naturally abundant in wits and humor without alluding to Buddhist classics or making any reference to words of Zen. However， there are more of his poems containing the classics Zen hold in high respect， such as Surangama， Avatamsaka Sutra， vimalakirti Sutra， Lotus Sutra，etc. With Buddhist allegoric words directly written in the lyrics， these poems are rich in the wits and humor of Zen. The following study is based on the text of Li Po s Complete Works annotated by Wang Qi， aiming to explore Li Po's poems of Zen humor and Zen logic that are full of Zen wits.
