空間分析是用來研究地理現象在空間變異上的主要方法之一，近年來，由於地理資訊系統科技與資料蒐集／建置方法的精進，許多空間分析的工作都可以使用電腦來輔助執行，對地理學方面的研究工作相當有助益。因此，本文謹從空間定位與套疊、空間分佈與移動的展現、地理分區／分類與空間統計、變遷偵測、距離／路徑分析等地理研究中常見的主題來說明地理資訊系統於空間分析與空間資料展現工作上的應用實例供讀者參考，以推展地理資訊教育。

Spatial analysis is one of the most important method in geographical research regarding spatial variation. Nowadays, most of the spatial analysis methods can be implemented by computer-based geographic information system due to the progress of technics as well as the data collection methods. The main purpose of this research is to promote the geographical information education by illustrating the instances in spatial analysis as well as spatial data representation, such as geographic location determine, spatial distribution and representation, zoning and classifying, spatial statistics, change detection, and route analysis.
