下世代的行動通訊環境整合了多種不同的行動通訊系統，並使它們能彼此互通；然而在這些通訊系統標準只規範了通訊功能的需求，至於實現通訊功能的做法，則沒有限制。本論文提出一個新的通訊軟體架構，不僅能符合IEEE 802.16m MAC層的通訊協定所要求的功能，並具備可攜性、重複使用性、和擴充性等優點；所以它能運用在不同的通訊標準軟體開發上，而且適用於不同的系統平台。
英文摘要
The next generation communication system should be able to integrate and inter-operate with various mobile communication systems. However, there are no specific protocol specifications to describe the implementation of each communication system standard. Current ommunication standards just flexibly define the protocol architecture to meet the functional requirements. In this paper, a new protocol is proposed which not only meets the functional requirements of IEEE 802.16m MAC layer, but also has the advantages of portability, reusability and extensibility. It can be applied to different communication standards, and can work on different system platforms.
