階層式網路架構,可讓業者以低成本的方式增加系統負載量,是目前被廣為接受的網路架構,也是目前在4G主流規格(WiMAX[1],LTE[2])中被熱切討論的議題。階層式網路架構使用不同規模的基地台(Base Station;BS),同時對某一區域進行服務,以達到增加覆蓋範圍、增加可容納用戶數、和增強連線品質的效果。然而,由於所有權的關係,一般小型基地台只開放給特定使用者。也因此,對於正與廣域基地台(Macro BS)進行連線的行動裝置(Mobile Station;MS)而言,這些非開放的基地台所發射的訊號就成為了干擾來源。同樣的干擾來源也存在於具有不同所有權的小型基地台之間。這些干擾來源會降低資源的使用效率,也會為使用者帶來不愉快的使用經驗,破壞了原本階層式網路架構的美意。本論文提出了一個在時間維度上的資源保留機制以解決階層式網路所帶來的干擾問題,本機制並包含了兩個子項技術,分別是「動態資源保留機制」以及「行動裝置輔助之干擾回報機制」,用以加強資源使用效率以及減少隱藏干擾區域。兩個子項技術所帶來的效能提升,清楚地呈現在本論文的模擬與分析章節當中。

英文摘要

While capacity demands on future networks are increasing, it is imperative that the network operators keep looking for cost-effective ways to add capacity, while continuing to add network services that can enhance their revenues. Hierarchical networks, which encompass multi-tier, multi-radio network architecture, represent a disruptive approach towards low cost/bit capacity enhancements, which efficiently utilize all spectral resources in the system. Although the development of hierarchical networks can enhance the network capacity and accommodate the rapid growth in mobile data demand, the induced interference problem that will degrade the system performance has to be resolved first. This paper proposes a time-based resource reservation scheme which can be combined with other resource reservation schemes to completely resolve the interference problem induced by hierarchical networks. Moreover, two mechanisms in the scheme are proposed to enhance the resource utilization and reduce the hidden interference areas. These mechanisms are proved by the simulation results to improve the proposed scheme.
