中文摘要
本文主要探討的即是地圖從傳統的製作方式演進至今日以電腦為主的製作模式，特別是以物件導向觀念為主體的地理資訊模型，透過物件導地理資訊模型的建置，作為空間資料的基礎，並以現代製圖學(Modern Cartography)的概念來闡述地圖的製作的新觀念。
英文摘要
The Information Technology has actually changed the mapping procedure. Furthermore, the Object-Oriented approach has also been applied to spatial data model practically. These changes have been greatly improved the mapping production. This paper is aimed to address the impact on the mapping production caused by the Object-Oriented approach. We are trying to express how the Object-Oriented data model advantages the mapping production. There will be a new view of Modern Cartography.
