電腦多媒體技術的進展，讓人們享受前所未有的經驗，也促成了原本高不可攀的兩大資訊技術，「虛擬實境」與「地理資訊系統」日益普及於生活中。本文主要目的係在探討現有虛擬實境技術與地理資訊系統相互整合之可行性，透過了解傳統3D動畫與虛擬實境之間的差別，嘗試將複雜的虛擬實境概念透過現有且成熟的多媒體網頁技術加以簡化，並嘗試與網際網路地理資訊系統相互整合，開發出以『花蓮地區』為主軸的觀光導覽系統，期望結合兩大技術特色，呈現出生動又多元的虛擬觀光景像。

The progress of the multimedia technology of the computer let people enjoy unprecedented experience. Also, it makes two major information technologies popular in our daily life which are originally too far to reach. That is 'Virtual Reality' and 'Geographic Information System'. The main purpose of this article is to discuss the possibility of combination between Virtual Reality technology and Geographic Information System. Else, by understanding the difference between traditional 3D animation and Virtual Reality, we attempt to simplify the Virtual Reality concept through existing and ripe multimedia webpage technology. And, we try to combine each other with the Web-GIS, so that we could develop it as the tour guide system of the main shaft by "Hualien area". Expecting the combination of these two technological characteristic, we could display the colorful and beautiful Virtual Reality scene picture.
