本文前半從歷史的角度，回顧<官話和合譯本>翻譯同工選擇其語體與翻譯原則的過程，指出<官話和合譯本>翻譯時有其「讀者教育程度」、「社群」與「使用目的」的考量.本文後半則從「教育程度」、「社群」與「使用目的」三向度，探討未來中文聖經翻譯應考慮的方向與展望.文末並提出呼籲，為了中文聖經的未來，華人教會需重視譯經人才與經費的挑戰.

The first half of this articles is from a historical perspective, looking at the process of how the translators of the “Mandarin Union Version” chose their language terms and principles. It points out how at that time the “Mandarin Union Version” considered its readers’ “education level”, “community” and “purpose”. The second half of this paper goes on to use these three dimensions of “education level”, “community” and “purpose” to consider the future direction and prospects of Chinese Bible translation. The final part of the paper calls on the Chinese Church in future to attach great importance to those who do the work of translation and to the funding challenges involved.
