北宋武學在歷經仁京時期的萌芽，神宗時期的確立，到了宋徽宗崇寧時期，除了以中央武學選拔人才的制度外，並試圖把武學伸展到地方。宋室南渡之後，高宗又建立並整頓武學。寧宗慶元時期，諸路、州建武士齋舍。本研究的結語如下:一、藉由學校教育達成取士的目標已達成。二、南宋武學承繼北宋的制度並加以發揚。三、北宋、南宋企圖將武學灌入地方，均未成功。
英文摘要
Wu-hsueh of the Northern Sung Dynasty burgeoned during the reign of Emperor Jen-tsung and was established during the reign of Emperor Shen-tsung. During the Ch'ung-ning reign of the Emperor Hui-tsung， the Central Government not only adopted Wu-hsueh as a system of selecting capable persons. but also attempted to spread it out locally. After the Sung Royalties moved southwards， Emperor Kaotsung re-installed wu-hsueh and put in order the poorly managed organization. During the Ch'ing-yuan reign of Emperor Ning-tsung， school of knights were founded within all provinces. In summary: 1. Theaim to select capable persons through school education was achieved. 2. The Southern Sung inherited and enhanced the system of military academies founded in the Northern Sung. 3. Both the Northern and Southern Sung tried to spread out wu-hsueh locally; yet， the effort failed.
