《楚辭‧招魂》作者何人千古以來聚訟紛紜，不論是屈原招楚懷王之魂抑或自招，或是宋玉招屈原之魂，它都是《楚辭》中極特別的一篇。在內容上集結了天地間恐怖、神秘、華麗、享樂、浪漫於一爐，在辭采上它縟麗、誇誕，其間對比的美感處處陳列，而結構又層層鋪敘、井然有序，因而產生了想像幅度擴增的奇譎效果、幻想真實相融的抒情效果、美麗猙獰轉化的藝術效果。其誇誕美文在《楚辭》中實獨樹一幟。

There are inconsistent statements concerning the real writer of “Summons of the Soul.Ch’u T’zu for all time. Either the part that depicts Qu Yuan evokes his own spirit or the spirit of the King, Chu-Huei Wang, or the illustration of Song Yu’s summoning of Qu Yuan’s spirit, this chapter displays its uniqueness in Ch’u T’zu. In terms of the content, “Summons of the Soul.brings numerous images together, the darkness and misery in the nature, resplendence, hedonism,and romance. The splendid and dramatic language in this chapter manifests the contract feeling aesthetically, while it succeeds in the well-organized structure. These elements exceedingly extend readers’ imagination, which presents the fantastic and treacherous picture mixing up the illusion and reality, and the effect that develops the ferocious atmosphere artistically. All of these
mentioned features consolidate the singularity of this chapter in Ch’u T’zu.
