隨著資訊科技的發展，電腦軟硬體的更迭速率越來越快，對於使用者已造成極大的負擔；學習軟體成為終身志業，培養電腦技能，更是不能中斷的過程。隨著電腦軟硬體普及快速地成長，電腦書籍或雜誌的市場也是逐年擴大，再再顯示出，未來電腦的學習活動，只會變得更加頻繁與必要。 市面上電腦軟體書籍的編排，皆為由簡而繁，為確保讀者在自行學習的情況下完成軟體的學習，書籍的編排方式通常含有過於冗長、詳盡的內容，造成學習過程進度緩慢，而「速讀」的概念若能導入電腦書籍的編排，則可以造福廣大的電腦使用族群。 本研究的目的旨在「速讀型」電腦書籍排版的實踐與評估，速讀型的電腦書籍特色在於採用速讀的方法，將書籍的編排層級化，讀者可依本身的電腦程度與內容重要性從事選擇性的閱讀，藉以縮短軟體的學習時間與提升學習效率。 本研究所提出的「速讀型」書籍編排概念，經現況的分析、專家的討論以及不同電腦程度的使用者評估後，「速讀型」的方法受到大多數受測者的肯定，證實具不同程度電腦軟體知識的讀者可進行快速、大幅度的速讀，並進而綜合專家與使用者的看法推導出「速讀型電腦軟體書籍」的編排設計規範。研究的結果顯示可有效改善目前電腦書籍版面的編排方式，提供速讀的電腦軟體書籍學習的編排設計與閱讀方式供出版社參考。

Keeping up with the latest information technology and computer applications has generated a huge burden for most of people. As computer skill is one of the required competencies today, a lifetime information technology learning or updating is needed. Examining the layout design of current computer textbooks, it is too time consuming and redundant to study. Thus, a computer application book that is designed based on the concept of "speed-reading" is beneficial. The purpose of this study is to adopt and evaluate the concept of "speed-reading" layout design of computer textbooks. This newly design allows learners to have an instant and flexible study method. One can determine which part to skip, to read, or to have a thorough reading instantly in a speed-reading design computer textbook. The research includes a comprehensive investigation of current computer application textbooks in the market, a development of the speed-reading layout design, and an evaluation of the designed software textbook. The result shows that the concept of speed-reading software textbook design is practical and useful. Meanwhile, a complete design rules regarding to this concept were developed.
