1971年我國退出聯合國後，外交情勢日益險惡。1972年的奧運會雖暫時 安然渡過，然而隨之來的1976年蒙特宴奧運會，則呈現一片風雲詭譎的氣象。在中共和國際社會的夾擊下，我國奧會如何面對此一街擊?我國的基本立場是什麼?將採取什麼因應策略?以及退出的經過和影響又如何?筆者將所得資料加以分析綜合，並得到以下結論:1.我國奧會是政府對中共外交總體戰中的一環，面對艱難的外交局勢，我國政府在維護IOC會籍的過程中，曾不遺餘力，因此值得國人肯定。
2.堅持中華民囡囡號的基本立場，迫使我國退出此次奧運會，也強化了 IOC解決中國問題的決心，是促成1981年「奧會模式」簽訂的重大因素之一， 影響可謂深遠。

Our diplomatic situation get worse， when we resigned from United Nations in 1971. Though everything passed peacefully in temporality， in the following， the Montreal Olympic games of 1976 appared an unpredictable atmosphere. Under the attack from both flanks一一一the Mainland China and international societies， how can our Olympic Committee face such conflict， what is our basic standpoint， what kind of adjusting policy should be adopted， and what are the processes and the influences of resignation. I synthesize the informations which I have researched and analyze as the following: 1.Our Olympic Committee is an administrative unit to deal with the Mainland China's diplomatic offensive of general warfare. It works hard when our government upheld the membership of International Olympic Committee in such an different diplomatic circumstance. It is worth our people to appreciate. 2. The basic standpoint of insisting the name of Republic of China enforce us resign from this time's Olympic Games， and emphasize the decission for international Olympic Committee to solve the achivement to tωo sign that "Cαhinese Taipei" as our "Olympic Mode" This influence is very profound.
