This research chose the metropolitan area of Taichung as its object, aiming to determine whether or not a correlation exists between house investments in Taichung area and the factors for consideration, including living conditions, environmental conditions, market conditions, transportation conditions, financial conditions and location conditions. The grey relational analysis was applied to explore the decisive factors for house investments in Taichung area. Referring to the relevant studies and professional opinions, this research developed the factors taken into consideration for house investments in Taichung area. Also, this research applied grey relational analysis of grey theory and GM (0,N) model to process the weight computation and weight sort. The result showed the key factors for house investments in Taichung area, and the ranking for sub-factors in order were "house sizes and styles" (grey relational analytic value: 0.193799066); "accessibility"- whether located in transportation hubs (grey relational analytic value: 0.191144345); "scale of the living circle" (grey relational analytic value: 0.19016978); "house age" (grey relational analytic value: 0.189568162; and "future potential" (grey relational analytic value: 0.187928566). The last three factors in order were "pre-sale house or completed house", "the number of competitors", and "the age distribution of inhabitants". Based on the above conclusion, the importance of decisive factors can serve as reference for construction investment business or real estate agents for house investments in Taichung area or future marketing strategies making. Moreover, it extends one's understanding of the impacts that socio-economies, politics and policies, houses and environments have on the house prices.
