世界反禁藥組織就在1999年11月10日正式成立。這是個非政府組織，由國際奧委會與各國政府共同出資作為打擊運動禁藥的組織，其組織架構由奧委會以及各洲的政府代表組成，設有九個委員會。世界反禁藥組織的成立之宗旨在於創造一個公平競賽的競技平台，同時也擔負起運動員身心健康把關的責任。所以負有教育推廣任務，成立網路資料庫，管控藥檢狀況以及最新禁藥訊息，另外在世界各地設立33個經WADA認證通過的實驗室。然而近來發生了自由車選手阿姆斯壯藥檢陽性反應事件，說明了世界反禁藥組織仍需要更多的資源投入，來遏止禁藥的蔓延。
英文摘要
The World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) was established on Nov. 11, 1990. It is a non-governmental organization which is funded by IOC and public authorities and is composed of nine committees. The goal of the organization is to make a fair competition platform and also to take the responsibility of caring the athletes’ health. One of the main tasks is to promote the anti-doping education. WADA establishes 33 laboratories located around the 5 continents. Nevertheless, occurred the doping scandal of the cyclist Lance Armstrong which demonstrate that WADA need more input of resources to achieve their mission of anti-doping.
